Combine harvester blades: a sourcing brief with the fit details

A blade offer is useful when the factory is quoting the same cutting assembly and replacement scope as the buyer. Prairie Link Sourcing coordinates that written scope as an independent procurement partner.

Combine blade measurement and mounting inspection

Match the request to a destination and a task

Describe whether the order supports an upcoming overhaul, an urgent field replacement or distributor replenishment. Provide the receiving ZIP or state and seasonal delivery date. We use these details to seek relevant factory responses; this page does not claim a local dealer network or existing inventory.

Close the specification gaps before comparing prices

01 / Identification

Establish the replacement boundary

Record the combine model and serial range, knife or section reference, mounting-hole centers in mm or inches, thickness and fastener details. Mark whether guards, hold-down clips or drive parts are included.

02 / Supplier reply

Keep alternatives separate

Ask each factory to identify the material, edge form and dimensional drawing behind its offer. A substitute needs buyer approval against the assembly; visual similarity cannot establish compatibility.

03 / Commercial scope

Price the complete requirement

Request MOQ, sample charges, packing, currency, unit basis, shipping scope and lead-time starting event. Confirm who supplies installation instructions and how a dimensional mismatch would be handled.

Purchasing scenarios · Not customer testimonials

Two requests that should produce different offers

Preseason blade replenishment

A distributor requests spare sections for multiple cutterbar assemblies. Group the order by reference and drawing revision, state the unit count per pack and keep samples separate from the bulk release. The comparison can then identify a packing mismatch before a mixed shipment is approved.

Harvest repair with an uncertain reference

A fleet buyer has a worn sample but no confirmed part number. Request a dimensioned drawing and check mounting and clearance with the responsible technician before release. Arrival urgency does not remove the need for a written compatibility decision.

Premium, mid-range and budget-friendly are purchasing preferences. Compare edge specification, traceability, sample verification and support scope against the optional budget; supplier selection remains subject to evidence and buyer approval.

Request a comparable blade quotation

Include crop, working width, throughput basis, quantity and US destination alongside the exact reference. If a sample or drawing review is required, list the acceptance checks and who will approve them.

Factory availability, material claims and seasonal timing remain to be confirmed in the response. We coordinate requirements and offers; the supplier is responsible for its quoted manufacturing scope.
