Headers for combine harvester: documents for a compatibility decision

Organize dimensions, interface records and operating assumptions before accepting a factory alternative. Prairie Link Sourcing uses this evidence to clarify the inquiry; final machine compatibility belongs to the responsible buyer and technician.

A

Specification sheet

Record working width in ft or m, crop and throughput basis, feeding arrangement and the combine model and serial range. Separate buyer target values from supplier-declared values so the source of each number stays visible.

B

Interface drawing

Request the feeder mounting dimensions, drive coupling, hydraulic connections and control requirements. Label the revision and units. A drawing must show the actual proposed configuration; a generic image cannot settle the connection question.

C

Service and wear-part record

Ask for knife, guard and drive replacement references with maintenance instructions. Confirm whether fasteners, adapters and tools are supplied or excluded. Keep the installation responsibility and any training scope in the quotation.

Procurement reading and requested supplier files

Our procurement checklist is available as an article. Model-specific manuals, dimensioned drawings and inspection records must be requested from the proposed factory; no unverified manual download is presented here.

Blade and wear partsCompare material specification, thickness, mounting-hole centers and replacement references.Sample or inspection plan covers the agreed critical dimensions.

Where a sample is needed, agree the measurement method and acceptance tolerance before ordering it. Record instruments, datum points, measured results and the approving person. A static dimensional check cannot establish field durability; any field trial needs a separately agreed crop, operating setup and observation plan.

Compare a direct replacement with an adapted alternative by drawing approval, sample work, installation scope and total cost. A budget-friendly unit may need extra adaptation; a premium preference does not prove better compatibility. Exact price and lead time remain quote-specific.

Put missing evidence into the RFQ

Identify the open specification, required drawing revision, quantity and destination. We can ask factories to respond to the same questions and keep unapproved alternatives separate.
